Driver's License
You must obtain a Colorado Driver's License within 30 days of becoming a resident. If you have a valid driver's license from another state, you will not be required to take a written test. The fee for a new license is $15. The license is valid for five years.

Automobile Registration
Colorado license plate and registration is at the Larimer County Courthouse. Bring current registration, proof of emissions test, VIN#, and proof of insurance. To get an estimate on the cost to register your vehicle, bring your VIN# to 200 W. Oak St. You must get your car registered within 30 days of moving to Colorado if you are employed, or within 90 days of becoming a resident.

Transportation
Transfort

A single ride is $1; transfers are free. Senior, disabled and Medicare cardholders 50¢. Those 17 years of age and younger ride free. CSU students with an activity card ride free. Discount passes may be purchased at local grocery stores or the Transfort Office. *Service times vary by route and time of year. Most buses run from approximately 6am to approximately 7pm. All Transfort buses are wheelchair-accessible and equipped with bicycle racks.
FoxTrot
(part of Transfort)
FoxTrot is part of Transfort and runs between Fort Collins and Loveland. Fares are the same as Transfort and every bus is wheelchair-accessible and equipped to carry two bicycles.
Dial-A-Ride

Dial-A-Ride, door-to-door service for the elderly and disabled in Larimer County. Each ride is $2, reduced fare available to those who qualify. Make reservations at least one day in advance.
Smart Trips

Bike Trails Information

Extensive bike trails cross the city making bicycle transportation a viable and safe alternative to driving.
