NEWS:
The Institute of Business and Medical Careers (IBMC) held their bi-annual Advisory Board Meeting Friday November 6th. The IBMC Advisory Board is comprised of professionals, employers, and prior graduates from Northern Colorado region. The Board’s primary function is to consult and advise IBMC concerning current knowledge of employment needs within the community. This valuable information is utilized to up-date IBMC curriculum content and to provide current information, technologies and equipment to train students in modalities as externs and eventually as employees in the workplace.

This program has proven to be a win-win situation for both the IBMC students and the employers in the local communities. It has assisted in the expansion of externship outreach programs for employers and to introduce students to employers as prospective employees.

Information:
The topics for discussion at this meeting were: Attendance and Professionalism in the work place; Dress Code/Business attire; Social Networking in the business place and it’s applications involving Twitter, Blogs and Facebook; and Skills needed in the office place such as keyboarding and 10-key.

The IBMC Advisory Board members come from a variety of business, medical and legal professions, which reflect the coursework and degrees offered at IBMC.
